UNIVERSAL PLAY
The primary game option and hub for all multiplayer options. Each player starts with a rack of seven letters. They are replenished back to seven after each turn. Play starts from one of the diamond square positions, by covering as many diamond squares as possible. Players develop their own crosswords, in crossword style. A minimum of one square space must be maintained between crosswords although letters can be in diagonally opposite squares. The objective is to cover star squares and stop others from doing so. The winner is the first player to cover any four star squares.
The illustration above is an example of Universal Play. It is a game between four players. It shows how close crosswords can be to one another - as they are not allowed to merge.
